Our 8-Day Go!Moto Colombia Andes Adventure isn’t just a ride — it’s a high-altitude expedition over, around and through one of the most dramatic mountain landscapes in the entire world! Get ready for eight days of epic and unforgettable experiences that you will never forget.
Day 1: Arrive in Bogota and transfer to Tausavita, Go!Adventure’s exclusive basecamp outside Ubaté. You’ll get acquainted with your fellow travelers in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere while our experienced guides familiarize you with your motorcycles and brief you on what to expect from our upcoming adventure together.
Day 2: Our adventure begins with a climb into the high páramo, one of the Andes’ most unique and spectacular ecosystems, toward the ghost town of San Cayetano. Most of this ride takes place well above 10,000 feet. This is where Go!Adventure lives up to its name — we don’t avoid the extremes, we ride straight into them.
Day 3: Leaving the high páramo behind, we ride deep into rural Santander and explore Las Gachas, extraordinary natural rock formations and deep river canyons sculpted by centuries of flowing water. Expansive sugar cane plantations, traditional panela production, and endless curves entertain us on the way to our overnight in colonial Guadalupe.
Day 4: This day takes us even deeper into remote and spectacular Andean terrain, rolling along seemingly endless high ridgelines until we arrive in the charming mountain town of Onzaga, where we will stay at the Doña Esperanza — a gorgeous traditional hotel.
Day 5: Our fifth day together starts with a dramatic descent into Chicamocha Canyon — the core of this adventure. Descending more than 6,000 feet to the canyon floor, you will be stunned by the mighty beauty of this rugged landscape formed by millions of years of wind, water, and extreme temperatures. We overnight in the spectacular colonial town of Barichara, the center of Colombia’s rich tobacco industry, where we might enjoy a cigar or two.
Day 6: We depart Barichara and leave the rugged, desert-like beauty of Chicamocha behind, returning to lush, green mountain tops and making a path towards civilization at the white-washed colonial town of Villa de Leyva, one of Colombia’s most beautiful villages. There we will spend the night exploring the largest plaza in all of South America, enjoying plenty of authentic Colombian culture.
Day 7: We begin our journey back to Tausavita with an epic ride across Valle De Saquensipá, a part of the country rich with artisanal traditions, perhaps stopping to visit a small pottery factory or woolen goods workshop before we make our way around one of the many lakes that dot the countryside around Ubaté. This peaceful journey invites you to reflect on the incredible adventure that you’ve enjoyed so far.
Day 8:Goodbye Colombia, it’s been an incredible adventure! We’ll mark the end of our journey together with a breakfast feast prepared by the staff at Tausavita, before we say our last goodbyes and arrange our transport back to the airport for the return flight home.
