From high-altitude pine forests to desert plains to tropical jungles, the Colombian Andes' Eastern Cordillera offers something for every type of explorer. These are a few of our favorite destinations that our tours visit in this region — tell us which ones you would like to visit and we'll design a custom itinerary built just for your group!

More than 6,660 feet deep and 120 miles long, Chicamocha Canyon is the second-largest canyon in the world and an incredible area to explore on two wheels. Ascending more than 6,000 vertical feet to the canyon’s western rim, it feels like the switchbacks never end.

The high-altitude Páramo de Rabanal is an important ecological preserve and also a sacred place for the native Muisca, where they believe civilization began. It’s a great place to pause and appreciate the abundant scenic and cultural beauty of Colombia’s Andes region.

El Sendero Esmeralda — the Emerald Trail — is a land of stunning waterfalls, long, dark tunnels, and ancient cobblestone trails that cut deep through the the jungle surrounding the small town of Chivor, the heart of Colombia's famed emerald mining area.

Sometimes we ride; sometimes we rest. Las Gachas is one of our favorite rest stops, an otherworldly series of naturally formed plunge pools on the Gachas River. It’s a great place for a cool and refreshing swim, as well as a locally sourced campesino lunch.
